Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026
1. No accounts
DocsTranslate has no sign-up. Your balance and free-page quota are tied to a random device identifier stored in your browser (localStorage, a cookie, and IndexedDB) and to a hardware fingerprint โ a short hash derived from device characteristics such as screen size, time zone, and graphics renderer. The fingerprint prevents free-quota abuse and confirms purchases come from a device the app has been verified on. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
2. What we process
- Your documents. The text or PDF you submit is sent to our servers and passed to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce your translation. We do not keep your documents or translations after the response is delivered, and we do not use them for anything else.
- Account data. Per device we store: free pages used, credit balance, purchase history (with Stripe transaction identifiers, not card details), and device-check results (browser user-agent string, probe timing, reported memory).
- IP address. Used transiently to enforce free-quota limits per network over a rolling 30-day window.
- Payments. Handled entirely by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy. Your card number never touches our servers.
3. What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics trackers, no sale or sharing of data with third parties beyond the processors named above (Anthropic for translation, Stripe for payment).
4. Retention
Device account records (quota, balance, purchases) are kept while the service operates so your credit isn't lost. Anti-abuse IP and fingerprint counters cover a rolling 30-day window.
5. Your choices
Clearing your browser data removes the stored device identifier (your remaining balance is tied to it, so export or use credit first). To ask about or request deletion of the server-side record for your device, contact us โ include the approximate purchase date so we can locate the record.
